ABOUT
Claudette Goico Šernius is a Dominican artist who works primarily in painting and sculpture, as well as in other art forms. Much of her work arises from her life experiences and a creative journey marked by academic excellence and artistic vision.
Claudette's academic foundation and pursuit of knowledge extend beyond traditional boundaries. She obtained an associate of arts in Architecture and a Certificate in Geographic Information System (GIS) from Broward College's Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors College, which informed her understanding of form, space, and data and her blend of technical precision and artistic sensibility. She later obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with a Minor in Art History at Florida International University (FIU) Honors College, from which she learned to use her gifts as a medium for social change that can uplift and nurture others through service-learning projects, exhibits, publications, and research. Through her commitment to research and dedication to service, she hopes to make a generational impact.
In Claudette’s artistic journey, she has embodied the fusion of art and education. It is a journey that traverses continents, disciplines, and boundaries. It is a testament to the profound impact that one individual's vision can have on the world. She intends to use her gift to empower and inspire other young Latin women in their own creative pursuits.
Claudette Goico Šernius currently resides in South Florida, where she lives with her husband Kristijonas and beloved dog, Ghost.
